Our life together started a little later than normal. We were in our thirties and set in our career paths when we met. Barb was involved in marketing and public relations as well as real estate and I was a software sales executive. We were happy, living in Atlanta, GA, bringing our first child into the world (well….dog), who happens to be named after our favorite wine, Jordan (which you will find on our menu), but something was missing. So, while visiting our good friends on Catawba Island in 2002, we decided to move back “home” and begin a new stage of our lives.
Fast forward to 2005. Barb and I are passionate about food and wine and have both spent many years in the hospitality business, combined with the need of places to eat in our local area, we decided to quit our jobs and open a restaurant. Our second child was born (well, restaurant)…Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi. Did I mention we LOVE sushi? And we knew everyone else would too, even though it wasn’t a cuisine the locals were used to. We put together a great team and opened Nagoya in 2005. Now we were on to something. We were having fun, meeting wonderful people and sharing our love for sushi and Japanese cuisine. So we delivered our 3rdchild (restaurant), Nagoya at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, OH.
Occasionally, one of our Port Clinton customers would suggest to us that we should open an Italian restaurant, as it would be great for the community. Our other love is Italian food, and we certainly agreed that it would be a nice addition to the community. So after 6 years of thinking about it, Ciao Bella was born! Our goal at Ciao Bella is encourage an Italian love affair of your own. Our passion for food is shared by Executive Chef Paul Matthews, and who brings wonderful variety of choices to the table…from traditional Carpaccio, Caprese Salad, gourmet pizzas and fresh pasta creations, to Osso Bucco and Filet Mignon. And let’s not forget about the wine. We have personally selected over 75 wines to add to your dining experience. The choices are nearly limitless, and we’re eager to share them with you.
We look forward to seeing you at Ciao Bella.
